Although you may not appreciate the association, your concluding thoughts are most closely aligned with the moral philosophy of Ayn Rand. “. . . life alone is reason enough for living.” Life is the standard of value. If you don’t want to live you don’t need a code of ethics. You don’t even need to look both ways before crossing the street. But if you want to live then there are certain objective values that live requires and the virtues are the act of acquiring them e.g. productive work, independence, honesty, etc.

“. . . We want to live life on our own terms.” You don’t owe your life to anyone. Every man is an end in himself and he is entitled to peacefully pursue his own happiness by the guidance of his free and un-coerced judgement.

Ayn Rand’s Objectivist Ethics is the only observation-based scientific ethics i.e. proven. And the spirit of your concluding remarks seem to be friendly to it.

If "nothing" else, it is maybe the "philosophy" of the big picture to consider all others, question why, and then search for the truth. Just as "science" is always testing accepted "facts" to discover new "truths" and disprove old ones (truth never changes, but sometimes what we believe to be true are only accepted as "facts" until proven to be untrue). In this context, Your definition and explanation is something I must say I respect about it not as a "philosophy" but as a starting point toward studying all other philosophy including religion. The search for Truth should begin with what is currently accepted as "truth" to be challenged rather than accepted as "fact" without proof, and by doing this in a large Venn Diagram we might identify where all of the various philosophy and religions agree or disagree, and then do deeper dives into them or even disqualify some or parts of them as being false. Very interesting and thought provoking post, thank you (even though I do believe this is AI generated click bait to build a list and make money: prove me wrong).
